Book of Remembrance entry

B.A. : Lieutenant, General List (Education Service) and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, England and France. Enlisting 7th June, 1915, and sailing 9th August, served with various A.A.M.C. units in Egypt and England until joining 7th. Australian Field Ambulance in France in December, 1916. Was invalided to England 18th September, 1917, but returned to France in December, remaining with unit until the Armistice. While awaiting demobilisation was appointed Education Officer 22nd Battn. and commissioned in November, 1918. Early education at Cleveland St. Superior Public School. Later at Teachers'' College.
