Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, Gallipoli, France and England. Enlisting and sailing 15th July, 1915, served as M.O., Zeitoun Camp, Egypt, from September to December and at No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Lemnos, and Tel-el-Kebir till March, 1916. Crossing to France, was R.M.O. 2nd Field Artillery Brigade to January, 1917, serving at Fleurbaix, Pozieres, Mouquet Farm, Ypres and Flers. In February joined 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, being for short periods relieving R.M.O. n th Battn. and with R.A.M.C. Casualty Clearing Station and returning to bearer section of Ambulance at Polygon Wood. Crossing to England, was at No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, England, from October, 1917, to March, 1918, when transferred to No. 2 A.G.H. .Boulogne, being from May to July with 2nd Australian Tunnelling Coy. and then returning on leave to London, whence invalided to Australia via U.S.A., arriving in November. Early education at St. Stanislaus'' College, Bathurst, and Newcastle Collegiate School.
