Enlisting 14th March, 1917, and sailing 17th January, 1918, joined No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, in November, after being in hospital in England from 28th April. Attached to British Intelligence Section, Cologne, from January to May, 1919, then returning for demobilisation. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later one year in Arts.
