B.Sc., B.Sc.Agr. : Lieutenant, 34th Battn. and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 9th September, 1915, and sailing 1st May, 1916, with 9th Australian Field Ambulance, served as stretcher-bearer until March, 1918. Transferring to Infantry School, Cambridge, was commissioned 18th October and, returning to France, remained with battn. from 29th October until demobilisation, acting as Lecturer in Agricultural subjects from November under A.I.F. Education Scheme. Promoted lieutenant, 3rd February, 1919. Early education at Sydney High School.
