Gardener''s Assistant: Private, 54th Battn. and A.A.S.C. (Mechanical Transport), A.I.F., France. Enlisting 18th June, 1916, and sailing n th September, served with battn. until the Armistice, although gassed at Messines Ridge and evacuated to England, and again gassed at Villers-Bretonneux. Then was with 1st Australian Mechanical Transport Coy. until demobilisation.
