B.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Lieutenant, 14th Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting in January, 1916, and sailing 3rd October, arrived in France in December and transferred from Trench Mortar Battery Reinforcements to coy. 7th February, 1917, and served with it till demobilisation, although sick. In hospital from October, 1918, to January, 1919. Promoted second-lieutenant, 10th July, 19 16; lieutenant, 14th May, 1917. Mentioned in Corps Orders. Early education at Watson''s Bay Public and Fort St. High Schools.
