M.B. : Captain, R.A.M.C., B.E.F.; also A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England, Egypt and France. Enlisting in R.A.M.C. in April, 1915, a.nd sailing on the 10th, served as M.O. troopship "Argyllshire ", arriving at Suez 13th May. After three weeks in A.I.F. Camp, Zeitoun, and No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, could not transfer to A.I.F., so went to England on hospital ship "Delta ", arriving 12th June. Joined 93rd Field Ambulance at Tweezledown Fleet Camp, going to Salisbury Plain in October, to 31st Division on Suez Canal in December and, crossing with it to France in March, 1916, to 30th Division in October. Transferring to A.I.F. in London 20th April, 1917, was at Dartford Hospital till October and then, returning to France, R.M.O. 4th Field Artillery Brigade, and later of 16th Battn. Then served at Harefield Hospital from October, 1918, and at No. 2 A.G.H., Boulogne, from December until demobilisation. Early education at Childers State and Brisbane Grammar Schools.
