D.S.O., V.D., M.D., Ch.M. (Pisa and Florence), F.R.A.C.S., Examiner in Surgery : Brigadier-General, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli and Italy. Appointed colonel to command No. 3 Australian General Hospital 1st May, 1915, proceeded with it to England and Lemnos whence invalided to England. Resigning appointment there 10th July, went to Italy and became Surgeon, Stationary Hospital, Schio, Trentino, under Italian Red Cross. Italo-Abyssinian War, 1896 : Awarded Cross of Cavaliere Dei S.S. Mauvizio e Lazzaro. South-African War, 1899-1902: O.C. N.S.W. Field Hospital and specially Mentioned by Lord Roberts for services at Paardeberg with Immediate Award of D.S.O.
