Arts and Law : Lieutenant, 1st Divisional Ammunition Column, and 1st Bde., A.F.A., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 4th September, 1914, and sailing as gunner with 1st Field Artillery Brigade 13th September, served at Cape Helles until invalided to Australia in November, 1915. Re-embarking 7th September, 1916, as second-lieutenant 20th Reinforcements 13th Brigade, transferred to 9th Bde. n th November, 1916, and to 1st D.A.C. 27th January, 1917, serving at Fremicourt, Somme, Ypres and till demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 1st May, 1917. Early education at Cooerwull Academy and Sydney Grammar School.
