B.D.S. : Private, 55th Battn. A.I.F., France. Enlisting 4th May, 1918, and sailing 29th June, joined battn. in France, but was sent to hospital three days later. On recovery was classed as unfit; served from January, 1919, to September as Instructor A.I.F. Education Service and was then demobilised. Early education at Public and High Schools.
