βIn 1910 he won a Government scholarship, which entitled him to three years' tuition at Rosewortliy agricultural College, where, in 1913, he was awarded a first class diploma. He took a keen interest, in all sports, playing for the first teams at the college, in tennis, cricket,and football. On his return from the war he was employed by the Soldier Settlement Department at Barmera, where he had resided ever since. β
