M.A., M.B., B.Ch. (Camb.), L.R.C.P., M.R.C.S., D.T.M., D.T.H., D.P.H., F.R.San.I. : Lieutenant, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, B.E.F., France. Receiving commission in A. and S. Highlanders 10th September, 1915, crossed to France with 14th Battn. and for a time was Adjutant. Served in Hohenzollern Redoubt, Vermelles, Loos and Somme sectors, being wounded twice—at Bully-Grenay and on the Somme. After convalescence was a brigade transport officer in Scotland and later went to train as a gunner officer, intending to join the Regular Artillery. After the Armistice, however, he returned to Medicine. Promoted lieutenant, 1st January, 1917. A.M.F. : Captain, A.A.M.C. Metropolitan Medical Officer of Health, Sydney.
