Enlisting 13th February, 1916, and sailing 3rd June, was attached to 12th Training Battn. 1st September and later to other training battns. in England. Crossing to France 24th March, 1918, joined No. 3 Dental Unit, being transferred to No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, 6th September and serving until demobilisation. Promoted hon. lieutenant, 16th May, 1916; lieutenant, 6th April, 1917, and captain, 16th May.
