V.D., M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 10th August, 1915, and sailing 10th November with 8th Australian Field Ambulance, was transferred in Egypt to 7th on 8th March, 1916. Crossing with it to France, was promoted major, 14th November, becoming R.M.O. 25th Battn. On 5th December was appointed Acting D.A.D.M.S., 1st A.N.Z.A.C. H.Q. and on 21st February, 1917, D.A.D.M.S., being invalided to England in August and to Australia, arriving in March, 1918. A.M.F. : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., 1927. A.D.M.S., 2nd Division, 1935. Member of Coronation Contingent, 1937. Early education at Townsville Grammar School.
