C.M.G., V.D., B.A.; M.D., C.M., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), L.M. (Rotunda, Dub.): Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt, France and England. Enlisting 20th April, 1915, and sailing 15th May as Lieutenant- Colonel, second in command, No. 3 Australian General Hospital, served with it at Lemnos. On 1st January, 1916, transferred to No. 2 A.G.H. . Cairo, crossing with it to Wimereux, France, and was appointed to command No. 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station 30th October. Promoted colonel to command No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Rouen, n th October, 1917, removing with it to Sutton Veny after the Armistice and returning as S.M.O. transport "Norman Castle "in 1919. Made a C.M.G. in 1919 and Mentioned in Despatches twice. South African War: Lieutenant, N.S.W. A.M.C., 1899-1901, with Mention in Despatches. Commander of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, 1928. Early education at Windsor Public and Grammar Schools. Later at St. Andrew''s College, also undergraduate in Medicine.
