Enlisting 4th May, 1916, was commissioned 16th November, 1917, and sailing 22nd March, 1918, in charge of reinforcements, joined coy. in France 11th October and served until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 17th November, 1918. Early education at Narrabri Public School and St. Joseph's College.
