M.B., Ch.M. : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., also R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France and England. Enlisting in England 15th June, 1915, as lieutenant R.A.M.C., transferred to A.A.M.C. 16th February, 1917, at No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall. Crossing to France, joined 2nd Australian Field Ambulance 28th September and returned to Administrative H.Q., London, 18th July, 1919, appointment terminating in U.K. 8th December. Promoted major, 1st July, 1918. Early education at The Scots College. Later at St. Andrew''s College.
