B.A. : Private, 53rd Battn. A.I.F., France. Enlisting 20th June, 1917, and sailing 2nd August, served at Messines, Morlancourt, Peronne, Bellicourt and until demobilisation, although gassed at Wyschaete in February, 1918. Early education at Sydney High School. Later at Teachers' College.
