Book of Remembrance entry
B.Sc.; M.E.E. (Cornell) : Lieutenant, 7th Field Coy., Engineers, and Australian Electrical and Mechanical Mining and Boring Coy., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in August, 1915, and sailing 30th November as lieutenant 7th Field Coy. Engineers, crossed to France in March, 1916, and was at Armentieres and Pozieres, where wounded 6th August and evacuated to England. Rejoining coy. 27th November, fought at Ypres and elsewhere till transferred to Mining Coy. in February, 1918, serving till demobilisation and returning via U.S.A. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later two years in Engineering.
