V.D., Diploma in Military Science: Lieutenant-Colonel, 20th and 17th Coys., A.A.S.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting as captain, 30th March, 1915, and sailing 18th November with 20th Coy., was with it in Egypt and France, where transferred to 17th Coy. 1st September, 1917, serving until demobilisation. Promoted major, 1st November, 1915; lieutenant-colonel on demobilisation. Mentioned in Despatches twice.
