Agr. Sci. : Lieutenant, General List (Education Service) and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting 6th September, 1915, and sailing 18th April, 1916, with 18th Reinforcements A.L.H. Field Ambulance, served with 2nd from 14th July, 1916, until 19th February, 1919, being attached at different times to 13th Coy. Imperial Camel Corps and Anzac Field Laboratory, Jordan Valley. Attending H.Q. Education School, Cairo, transferred to 5th A.L.H. Education staff until demobilisation. Principal engagements—Romani, El Katia, Bir el Abd, Gaza I and II, Beersheba and Amman. Promoted second-lieutenant, 28th March, 1919, and lieutenant, 26th June. Awarded Serbian Silver Medal in 1917 and Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Sydney High School.
