Book of Remembrance entry
F.R.C.S. (Edin.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., Med. : Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., India. Enlisting in London in May, 1916, served at Military Hospital, Devonport, till embarkation in June on hospital ship Braemar Castle . At Bombay was at Marine Lines Native Hospital for twelve months, during which he also served on hospital ship Erinpura , bringing sick and wounded from Basra. Returned to Australia in November, 1917. Early education at Newington College.
