M.B., Ch.B. (Edin.), D.P.H., R.C.P.S. (Edin.) and R.F.P.S. (Glas.), Med. : Surgeon, R.N. Enlisting 6th August, 1914, served on the hospital ship Soudan and later on H.M.S. Edgar , Circe , King Edward VII (aboard when sunk by German mine), and Royal Sovereign , and lastly at Crystal Palace Depot till demobilisation, later returning to Australia.
