Pte. 5th Btn. Aug. 1914; 7t h Btn. June 1915; 2nd Lieut. July 1915. Wound ed at Anzac landing and at Lone Pine (loss of left arm). Returned wounded November 1915, joined again as Adjt. of transport May 1917, made two trips to England, and took charge of rfts. of horsemen from W.A. to Egypt. Returned finally January 1919.
