Enlisting 20th September, 1915, was stationed at Liverpool Camp till September, 1916, and, sailing on 14th, served with Trench Mortar Batteries (medium and heavy), 1916-17, as Artillery Reconnaissance Officer 19 17-18 and Staff Captain 1918-19. Awarded M.C. 24th October, 1917, and Mentioned in Despatches. A.M.F. : Major, 15th August, 1923. Lecturer in Physics, 1918-37. Warden, New England University College, Armidale, 1938-. President, The Union, 1922-24. Early education at Fort St. High School.
