V.D., Arts : Chaplain (Class 3), A.I.F., Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting 8th August, 1914, returned 14th November, 1915, and, re-embarking 3rd February, 1917, served with A.L.H. Regts. until invalided to Australia in May, 1918. Promoted Chaplain (Class 3) 1st June, 1917. South African War : Chaplain, Australian Bushmen''s Contingent, 1900-02. Mentioned in Despatches three times. A.M.F. : Chaplain (Class 2) 25th February, 1923, (Class 1) 25th February, 1928, Acting Senior, 1934. Early education at Picton Public and Goulburn High Schools, also St. Nicholas'' College, North Goulburn. Later at St. Paul's.
