Book of Remembrance entry
B.A. : Sergeant, 5th Australian Tunnelling Coy., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 1st March, 1916, and sailing 25th May, joined company in France and served until death. Died from Exposure to Intense Cold while waiting for help with broken-down lorry, Poperinghe, 16th March, 1917, and was buried in Poperinghe New Military Cemetery. Early education at Newcastle South, Newcastle Public and East Maitland High Schools.
