D.C.M., Law : Lance-Corporal, 56th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 21st September, 1915, and sailing with 8th Reinforcements 20th Battn. 17th December, joined battn. at Tel-el-Kebir, 16th February, 1916, and, crossing to France, served at Fleurbaix, the Somme, Hindenburg Line, Bullecourt, Messines, Villers-Bretonneux, where gassed 18th April, 1918, and until demobilisation. Awarded D.C.M. 30th May, 1918.
