Eng. IV : Corporal, 9th Field Coy. Engineers, A.I.F. Served with 33rd Fortress Coy. Australian Engineers at South Head from the outbreak of War until released for service abroad in 1916. Enlisting 20th March and sailing 5th July as second corporal, served till death. Died of Illness and was buried at sea 20th July, 1916. Peter Nicol Russell Scholar. Early education at Cowra Public School. Later at Sydney Technical College—Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Honours).
