M.C., B.A., LL.B. : Captain, 35th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 1st December, 1915, as second-lieutenant and sailing 20th January, 1916, as Reinforcement Officer 18th Battn., was in charge of 9th Reinforcements in Egypt till the end of May. Then, going to England with 5th Training Battn., was transferred to 35th Battn. 30th September and, crossing to France, fought at Armentieres and Messines till slightly wounded in May, 1917. On recovery transferred to H.Q. as Divisional Bombing Officer, serving till demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 1st January, 1917; captain, 12th November, 1918. Early education at The King''s School. Later at St. Paul's College.
