Book of Remembrance entry

B.Sc. : Lance-Corporal, 1st Australian Wireless Squadron, Mesopotamia. Enlisting 3rd March, 1916, and sailing in June via Colombo and Bombay, served with 1st Corps, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, in the operations for the recapture of Kut-el-Amara, the capture of Baghdad and Sharoban, on Adhaim River and Jebel Hamrin Hills. Was with 7th Cavalry Brigade at the capture of Tekrit in 1917 and with Cassels'' Column and armoured cars in Khan Baghadi and Euphrates operations in 1918. Service also included Line of Communication Work in Mosul operations, interception of enemy messages at Baghdad and Oalat Shergat in 1918, and lasted until demobilisation. Member of the University of Melbourne.
