B.A. : Lieutenant, 101st Howitzer Battery, A.I.F., France. Enlisting 14th February, 1917, and sailing 2nd August, served until demobilisation. In October, 1918, sent to Cheshunt College, Cambridge, Officers' School, representing 1st Field Artillery Brigade, under A.I.F. Education Scheme, becoming second-lieutenant on 30th. Promoted lieutenant, 1st February, 1919. Early education at Cleveland St. Intermediate and Sydney High Schools.
