21.6.15, Pte. 14th Btn.; sailed 27.9.15; some time at a signalling school
in Egypt; to France with 46th Btn. 3.6.16; a year in the trenches in France; L Cpl. 4.5.17; gained Assistant Instructor's certificate at signalling school in Cassel. Rejoined his Btn., and while on temporary duty at Bde. Hd.-Qrs. was killed in action in Belgium on 10th October 1917.
