Book of Remembrance entry
Arts : Captain, 10th Battn., York and Lancaster Regt., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England in November, 1914, after sailing privately, was gazetted second-lieutenant on 24th and served from Loos until the Armistice. Promoted lieutenant, 1st April, 1915, and captain, 27th September. South African War: N.C.O., N.S.W.A.M.C., and lieutenant, Colonel Lassetter's Mounted Rifles, being severely wounded at Trichardsfontein, Transvaal. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
